Nimbus Data ExaDrive DC100 Becomes World’s Largest SSD with 100TB Capacity

The SSD that holds the world record with the largest capacity is now at 100TB capacity and Nimbus Data ExaDrive DC100 is the record holder, at least for now. The SSD is still in trial mode by selecting a select few customers to try this SSD before it is available for purchase in the middle of this year.

According to the manufacturer, the DC100 ExaDrive SSD will use NAND 3D flash memory, which can be used to store 20,000 HD movies, 20 million songs, and has a read and write speed of up to 500MBps. This SSD does not give priority to speed, but rather to efficiency. Even the required power is also efficient (0.1W / TB).

Nimbus said that data centerrs can reduce electricity consumption, cooling and rack space by up to 85%,compared to other large SSDs. Even Nimbus estimates that the total cost over a 5 year period will be 42% less per terabyte compared to other large drives.

Nimbus Data also fully guarantees the drive for 5 years without restriction, which means that during that period your SSD is damaged will be replaced with a new one.We all know that the price of SSD is very expensive when compared with HDD, so it is not surprising that SSDs of this size will not be targeted to the general consumer.

But at least the company gives an idea that in the future there is a possibility we have a fast storage space with a super large capacity.Surely it would be very useful for the advancement of human kind technology.
